Summer Lovin'

Summer is in full effect here in MN, and we are loving it! The girls are at such a fun age! They are talking more and more every day and we are constantly amazed at the new things they come up with to say! It is so much fun to watch them communicate and explore new things. Here are a few pictures of our summer adventures!

Both girls had a bout of Croup in the late spring, which ended in a visit to Children's for nebulizer treatment for Annie! Here she is all hopped up on Albuterol...our cute little patient! Thankfully they both recovered quickly and we've all been healthy!
Bathtime mischief!
Family bike ride at Minehaha Falls....
which led to a trip to buy our own helmets so we can ride our bikes together with the girls in their Burley behind Dad's bike...
Lots of sandbox and pool time!

Early morning drinks...from 'big girl' cups of course, because Annie and Grace are SO big.
All dressed up. (Please note the cute 'clippie'...this has become a new obsession around our house).
Strolling with Daddy and Granny on Father's Day.
Reading in Mom and Dad's bed.
Reading in our rocking chair (very advanced readers already :)).
And the newest hit around here....WATERMELON!

With all this fun, Mom and Dad even got to squeeze in their first trip without the girls (but we don't really have any pictures to show for it). Right after school ended, we headed to Tucson to stay at my Mom and Dad's place, while "Granny" and "Bapa" (as the girls have named them) came here and stayed. It was a great 4 day trip and everyone had a lot of fun! We're not sure what was more fun: 4 days of rest and relaxation or our reunion with our sweet girls at the airport! Either way, the trip was a success for all.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from our dainty little ladies! Don't let the dresses, shawls and bonnets deceive you though! These girls are into sticks, dirt and being outside!

Spring Break 2010

It wasn't the spring break of spring breaks past....but it was one of the best!

Here are some highlights:
Outside playtime with baby Al...3 cousins in deep discussion, plotting future schemes, no doubt.
An unhappy visit with the Easter Bunny,
and some baby animals, (here's Annie saying "hi" over and over to the ducks)

(and Grace, studying that baby bunny intently)
wheelbarrow rides with Daddy,

shirtless spaghetti eating,
playing in our new playhouse,

and chilling on our new favorite hang out...the steps!
It's back to school on Monday, but we aren't too sad! Granny and Grampy get home in a week, and it's spring here in MN, so our afternoons are spent outside. June will be here before we know it!

How We Survived The Winter...

Winter 2009: All we did was this...
and this...
and this....
Winter 2010 was much better! Minnesota's most dreaded days aren't so dreary when you've got these two around! Here's how we survived:
Making a lot of messes,
working on our writing skills,

a visit from Grandpa,

and Grandma,
snuggles with Mama,

stories with Daddy,tossing the football,
lounging and chatting,
more messes (kleenex is a big hit around this house),
hanging with Grandpa Mike,
and Grandma Bev,
loving our sister,
pushing our babies (or at least our strollers),
having fashion shows ,

learning how to eat with utensils (emphasis on learning),
and lots of play time with friends!
